Secrets and Surprises

One of the best short story collections I've ever read. And I'd never have stumbled upon it if Larry Ipil hadn't stumbled on me one Monday night and told me that I had to read her.

Anyhoo, Beattie writes with simple prose that is brimming and luminescent of all what is unspoken. Honest statements bring out so many questions about passion and relationships and intensity -- I love it.

I love this book. Oh, worship. I've found a new favorite writer.
