Book Three, with Evie Jenner and rake/kidnapper-of-Lillian, Viscount St. Vincent. Hm. There were moments in the book that I had to wonder whether this really is Evie Jenner, the “painfully shy” wallflower from the previous books. It seems she just started to fit in the romance heroine mold when it was her turn to be married to a cad. I did like the part where St. Vincent is in his deathbed. And, hm, but I didn’t like Lillian very much here. I have to ask this question: what now, after the end? Do they continue to live in the gambling house? Where will their children live? Gahd.
